ABOUT HAMILTON TOWNSHIP
Hamilton Township, located in southern Franklin County, has been part of Ohio’s history since it was formally organized in 1807. Named after Alexander Hamilton, the township’s roots trace back to some of the earliest settlements in the area around 1799.

The township covers approximately 14 square miles and blends historic charm with modern growth. Today, Hamilton Township is home to more than 8,600 residents, with roughly half living in unincorporated areas. It is served by the Hamilton Township Fire Department, established in 1944, which provides around-the-clock fire and emergency medical services.

With a strong sense of community, a rich history, and a convenient location, Hamilton Township continues to thrive as both a welcoming place to live and an important part of Franklin County’s heritage.
