Open burns are permitted in Hamilton Township, in accordance with the laws, rules and regulations of the State of Ohio, as outlined by the Ohio EPA and associated entities.
Properly completed open burn permits, if applicable, must be submitted to, and approved by, the Hamilton Township fire chief, and an authorized fire official (as designated by the fire chief) must perform an on-site inspection prior to any open burn.
Even with an approved burn permit, if there are any complaints or concerns about your burn, the permit may be revoked and the fire must be extinguished.
Permit requests can be obtained in person at any Hamilton Township fire station, or it can be printed directly from the Ohio EPA website. There is no charge for this service.
Please feel free to contact Hamilton Township Fire Department if you have any questions, comments or concerns about Hamilton Township's open burn policy.
